Kagi is a premium search engine that is good at surfacing results. It sources results from the Bing, Brave, and Teclis search engine indexes. Teclis is a first-party index developed for Kagi that ranks results by loading the webpage in Mozilla Firefox with uBlock Origin and penalizing results that cause more requests to be blocked by uBlock Origin– such asads, trackers, and analytics.

Exa is a semantic search engine based on qualitative natural language queries. (The underlying model was trained to predict the next link that would appear given a webpage or tweet contents.) Exa Websets is a new tool developed by Exa.ai that uses a language model to proactively evaluate hundreds of results against a list of criteria, and annotate them with structured data.
